Christmas is truly the most magical time of the year.
If you’re in the city around Christmas time, there is no shortage of Christmas activities in London to enjoy with your child. Here are a few of them to add to your itinerary:
Christmas Plays
There are endless Christmas plays that you and your child can go and watch together, from the classic A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic Theatre to The Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall or the White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre. See the Twinkling Lights
In December, different parts of the city start twinkling with beautiful lights.
Whether you head to Kew Gardens, Covent Garden or Regent Street, there will be exciting sights decorated with lights to see. Adding to the glow of the lights are mistletoe chandeliers, garlands, beautifully decorated trees and festive food stalls.
Giving Santa a Visit
The holiday photo album is incomplete without a picture of the little ones with Father Christmas. Take your child to a Santa’s Grotto or get them involved in Christmas workshops at your local library.
Visit Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens are not just known for their festive light show. Starting at the end of November, the Garden becomes a land out of a fantasy. You and your child can explore the botanical gardens adorned in Christmas magic.
They can also engage in singing carols, meet Santa and his Helpers or enjoy the fairground with all its activities.
Ice Skating
There is an abundance of ice rinks during the Christmas period in London. From Somerset House, the London Eye, the Tower of London, Canary Wharf, to Hampton Court Palace.
Decorations, lights, carols, Christmas music and the smells of winter treats will embrace you from every corner where ever you are in London. Safe to say, there will be something to do anywhere you go around London.
